Summer 2014, you are wonderful.

Summer 2014 has been wonderful so far, I’ve been on various trips which can be counted as some of the amazing experiences of my life so far. Besides all the travelling, I hope to receive my driving license before I move back to uni, as I found myself preoccupied with a fairly intensive driving course and having passed my driving theory test not so long ago! PHEW. so fingers crossed.

In my spare time, as you probably know I hopped on the train and commuted frequently to Cardiff. HOW I MISS THAT CITY. As I am trying to find out the perfect place for afternoon tea, Pettigrew Tea Rooms is located in the beautiful Bute Park at the city center by the Cardiff Castle (some pictures of the park can be found HERE). It has been rated the top tearoom in Cardiff, so being a foodie like myself couldn’t resist the temptation. Last week I also discovered an organic food/bar called Milgi. Being a huge fan of healthy and organic products, I stopped by on a Friday night which was surprisingly busy for a bar of its size on City road. What I loved about the place is that not only it has the eco-feel reflected in its interior design as well as the mugs/cups of the drinks it serves but also it’s a relatively quiet place to enjoy drinks between friends and family as opposed to the main stream pubs/clubs which are pretty rowdy on weekend. Places like these are hard to find these days.20140724_161608_副本IMG_20140801_215043_副本

Brighten up this gloomy day

It’s beautiful isn’t it?! Receiving this in the post today was the highlight of my day! Frankly, I’ve been feeling  rather down lately and this gorgeous orange shade really cheered my up! Guess everything will work out for the better, always!
This is a 14″ satchel which is a perfect size for students like myself, fitting my Ipad, A4 notes perfectly with plenty room left too! It’s so beautifully crafted, for those who plan to buy one, STOP HESITATE! The bag was exclusively designed for ASOS where I ordered mine from, some of you may believe I have a craze for orange as my last MK bag was almost the same colour.
The shade is perfect for adding that eye catch effect to an outfit, for summer day outs and also an instant perk-me-up in the constant down pour that is the common of Cardiff!

Shopping and Spa day in China

13 hours later, I arrived at Sheng Yang airport and picked up by mum at the arrival gate. I almost slept through my plane journey which is a good decision since the on-flight entertainment system wasn’t so good. One of my ability that I boast about is the fact that  never have or had jet lag. Ever. There I was finding myself shopping around the busiest high street with mum and went for sushi the very next day. Oh and IT. WAS. YUMMY. I almost forgot how cheap it i to dine out in China; even something like sushi which is a treat to an ordinary student like myself during my time in Britain.

In the last two days,  l literally ‘shopped until I dropped’ as I;ve ben feeling rather tired around 8pm after a long shopping trip! Photos will be up soon showing my latest purchase another day. Today, I visited my great-grandmother, it would be rude not to especially  the sole purpose of this trip was to celebrate her 90th birthday. She was not informed that I’m back for this event, therefore I was greeted with such a surprised look when she opened the door! WHAT A SPECIAL MOMENT.

Besides that, I visited a spa nearby with mum. We treated ourselves with a massage, milk and honey treatment and later a korean styled sauna (forgive me for calling this, it sounds silly but it’s basically a sauna with a korean styled room with a tea-table in the middle, so naturally we had tea!) Oh the feeling afterwards, unbeatable! You feel like loosing 5 pounds off weight! It was such a treat in the cold weather!

New In

This morning started off with me got up a little later than usual, which means that I had to skip breakfast and run for my 9 o’clock lectures. Thankfully, the lecture theatre is no too  very far from my hall. Oh and I picked up my four parcels from reception and was so super excited to open them!

I bought some anti- blemish foundation from Clinique, having had my lucky trail sample from them. I really loved it! It was perfect for my combination skin, going to use it when I need cover up. I shall do another post about all the products in the gift box later.  FINALLY, I NOW OWN A PAIR OF HEADPHONES ( the one I’ve been using came from my mobile phone, just those small ones you get with it.. nothing special) But I’m one of those people who prefer listening to music when I work and I prefer the headphones with more padding, frankly, when you work 10 hours a day with headphones in, your ears would end up pretty sore!

Workaholic, Foodie, Shopaholic – what I did in the last 4 weeks

Been a month since my last update, it’s natural that my blog feels a bit neglected! I don’t know whether any of you students out there feel the same but the weeks literally fly at University? Literally! So much work, so little time.

Apart from me being a workaholic on a daily basis, I’ve been going on many dinner dates around Cardiff with my boyfriend, we are such foodies! Many of regular readers would know that my favourite is this Mexican restaurant called Chimichanga, they have recently refurbished the place… my favourite Aztec decorations had been replaced by a much more authentic festival decoration… although I don’t know whether they did it because Christmas in a month time? But, if you get a chance to visit please check it out and try their dessert Churros or Sangria… or Both!!

Mmmm… getting a little carried away there! Surprisingly, dining out is perhaps the biggest expense so far in my “pretend” budget( I feel like I have to call it a budget since I am a student after all). admittedly I have been good with online shopping… at least to my standard. Below are my purchases of the month.

My beloved Dior perfume is running out so I decided to try out a relatively cheap alternative scent by Vinnie Westwood called Cheeky Alice, the scent is not very strong compare to others and the after note is a light floral, sandalwood scent, I love it! Definitely recommend it!

Student Lock In, one crazy shopping night

What a night! I’ve been so busy reading around my course this couple of days only for this night! Because usually I find it easier to focus at night so I do night readings alot at university. But any excuse for shopping right!? The student lock in is a special shopping night for students where shopping malls will offer 25% discounts across all stores!

As you can imagine, with the student budget. Yes we are on a budget. But it’s shopping and the beauty of student loans/grants! They are there awaiting to be spent! We queued for 20 mintues at different collection point for a discounted wristband which identifies you as student taking part in the event. Then once we were being let in the shopping mall, it felt like freedom; not in the sense that as if the goods did not cost anything! But it was such a crazy time, many shops had special DJs, topless male models, it was a crazy party but designated to shopping! Who’s idea was this I wonder haha! Being abig opportunist, of course I undertook research in shops beforehand so I knew exactly what I needed and where I could find them! I finally got myself a really nice coat which I desperately needed ( will post later with pictures of it).

The long waited present! ♥

It’s a Michael Kors Jet Set! Finally I have one! I went to pick it up from House of Fraser yesterday before my lovely meal with boyfriend. I felt like a child at Christmas, here, I took some pictures of my baby this morning! It’s beautiful isn’t it? I love the simple design of it, there’s something about Michael Kors tote bag that’s like the one and only. Remember back in the summer I’ve always been wanting to buy an orange coloured handbag, well here I have it. However, if you must know guys, this orange jetset wasn’t my first choice, I loved the one in violet from Selfridges but sadly the messed up my order and told me it was no longer in stock; let’s not have a rant but I think the service at Selfridges is terrible considering they are classed as an upscaled department store! Everything happen for a reason, so now I finally have my bright, summery tote bag!
